Meet Georgina-New to Me, IPM

I wanted to enter The Monthly Stitch’s, Indie Pattern Month Contests again this year but I’ve been on  a strict no fabric purchases budget this month.  Luckily my mom is always saving her cast off clothing for me and gifted me this nightgown she no longer wears.  The fabric was so pretty- I love the turquoise! I’ve had my eye on trying out a République du Chiffon pattern for …

Organic Denim Jeans + Embroidery

I was never that into wearing jeans until I learned how to sew my own perfectly fitted pair.  These jeans are just my style with the embroidered pockets and colorful topstitching.   I love the fit and silhouette.  I’m not a skinny jeans girl.  I don’t think that silhouette makes me look as proportional as a nice straight leg that skims the hip.  This organic denim is so comfortable too, with just …

Crossover Top & Flared Skirt-Monosewn

I love the monthly challenges over at TMS, they’re great for charging up my creativity and making me think outside of my comfort zone. This month was a big challenge for me. July is Mono Sewn-sewing in black & white- over at The Monthly Stitch.  My vote for the month’s challenge was “Inspired By” so I wanted to incorporate that aspect into the look I made as well. While I …

Centauree~Ava Swimsuit

This week’s contest for The Monthly Stitch is Franken-Indie!  This is the challenge I’ve been most excited for Indie pattern month.  I originally ordered Deer & Doe’s Robe Centauree pattern for the New to Me challenge but quickly realized it wouldn’t get here in time for me to do the dress justice.  Instead I started thinking up ways I could hack the pattern.  I had just ordered some …

Paisley Playsuit-By Land & By Sea

Here’s my entry for the New to Me Contest over at The Monthly Stitch for Week 2 of Indie Pattern Month.  I went with Salme Patterns after seeing Kat’s inspiration post here showing a sweet little sundress.  I’ve never used a pattern from Salme but had seen quite a few that I liked on pinterest and love that this was a PDF so I could get started right away! …

Indie Dresses- Lemon Drop Maxi

I’ve been so excited for Indie Pattern Month over at The Monthly Stitch!  This is my entry into the Dresses Contest, you can see my post for TMS here, and my favorite make so far.  I LOVE how this turned out, especially as it was really supposed to be just a wearable muslin.  This was perfect timing too, as I was able to wear this to my son’s preschool …
