Summer Refashion Midi Dress

Me Made May is long over, but it really got me thinking about what was working in my wardrobe-and what wasn’t. Last summer I made a gorgeous Ice Blue Twill Burda Midi Skirt but it didn’t get as much wear as I imagined it would. I thought long and hard about what I could do to make it more wearable and decided turning it into a dress might …

Me Made May 2019 Recap

It’s a bit late coming, but I really wanted to share everything I wore this Me Made May! This was my 6th year participating and for the first time I didn’t wear all my makes. My goal this year was to wear all me-mades with no repeats. I didn’t totally accomplish that goal- toward the end I really just wanted to wear some favorites- but I could have. …

Vacation Sewing- Odgen Floral Cami and Red + White Stripe Holly Pants

I’m just back from the most relaxing mini vacation with my family in Hobe Sound, Florida. Beautiful beach days with high winds led to some gorgeous waves and cool breezy weather. Perfect beach vacation! Today I’m focusing on the Red and White Stripe Holly Pants and Odgen Cami. I’ll share more on the other makes when I get a few more pics taken to show detail. My sis …

Work Wardrobe: Lantern Sleeve Blouse and Denim Culottes

I think this look is one of my favorites!  I love the simplicity of this white lantern sleeve blouse with the dark denim culottes. Both pieces are such versatile basics.  Perfect for work and for the weekend. I wish I had started sewing pieces like these earlier! The denim culottes are my second version of my pattern hack/mashup of B5504 by Connie Crawford and By Hand London’s Holly Pant.  I did everything …

Rust Organic Cotton Twill Holly/B5504 Pattern Hack Capri’s

I love sewing pants!  They are by far my favorite projects to work on. These Capri’s are a pattern hack of By Hand London’s Holly Pants and Connie Crawford B5504 (two of my fav pant patterns!) in an awesome Rust Organic Cotton Twill from Mood.  I tend to prefer very simple/clean lines in solids when I make pants so they never look as exciting as a patterned dress but the sewing is really satisfying. For these …

Holly Pants

I’m back this week with another Holly Adaptation!  Last week I showed you my refashioned Holly Hawthorn Dress and here are the pants.  These were a quick refashion after separating my jumpsuit.  I just had to add a new waistband (included in the pattern) and redo the side invisible zip.  Easy peasy.  I’m wearing them here with one of my favorite me made tops, Anne Klein V1382 modified from a dress …

Holly Hawthorn Dress

This dress combines the best parts of two of my favorite patterns!  The bodice of the Holly Jumpsuit and the skirt from the Hawthorn dress.  Luck was with me as the patterns matched exactly at the waist-though in different sizes.  My easiest pattern hack yet!   Pattern + Fabric Info: Holly Jumpsuit, By Hand London     Size 10 US/14UK Hawthorn Dress, Colette Patterns     Size 8 Hemp Linen  *Organic Cottons Plus ~this fabric …
