Linen Swing Top

I’m back today with this simple Linen Swing Top made using my Sloper and refashioned from two less than successful makes. The grey stripe voile (given to me by Organic Cottons Plus for review when I made it originally) is from my Bias Layer Dress.  The fit of the grey dress was a bit off in comparison to my blue version.  The dress was just too boxy and the shorter length looked dull. I remade it into another …

Holly Pants

I’m back this week with another Holly Adaptation!  Last week I showed you my refashioned Holly Hawthorn Dress and here are the pants.  These were a quick refashion after separating my jumpsuit.  I just had to add a new waistband (included in the pattern) and redo the side invisible zip.  Easy peasy.  I’m wearing them here with one of my favorite me made tops, Anne Klein V1382 modified from a dress …

Holly Hawthorn Dress

This dress combines the best parts of two of my favorite patterns!  The bodice of the Holly Jumpsuit and the skirt from the Hawthorn dress.  Luck was with me as the patterns matched exactly at the waist-though in different sizes.  My easiest pattern hack yet!   Pattern + Fabric Info: Holly Jumpsuit, By Hand London     Size 10 US/14UK Hawthorn Dress, Colette Patterns     Size 8 Hemp Linen  *Organic Cottons Plus ~this fabric …

Nautilus Tankini

Here’s my second version of the Nautilus Swimsuit by Seamstress Erin Designs altered to a Tankini.  This was my second tester suit and originally was the one piece version, view A (images below). My body fabric, a blue swim spandex, was just not working.  The body was pulling down the top and the shine on the fabric was just not doing it for me.  I decided I’d try to salvage the …

Nautilus Bikini

I pattern tested this swimsuit design way back in May and have been eagerly awaiting the release to share it with you guys!   This is the Nautilus Swimsuit from Seamstress Erin Designs.  I’ve been following Erin’s blog since I first started sewing and was psyched to test out this new pattern, especially since I’m at the beach or pool almost year round.  You can check out all the amazing swimsuits from the …

Free Pattern: Flora Girl’s Swimsuit

I’m back today with a free pattern and tutorial for the Flora Girl’s Swimsuit!  The Flora Swimsuit is a comfortable and easy to make swimsuit for your active little swimmer.  I designed this suit for my 4-year-old daughter Ami (size 4/5T) but it should be easy to grade up or down to your own size preference. The Flora has a cute cut out back that ties closed, an a-line …

Asymmetrical Apron Skirt Refashion

I’m so loving our weather here lately- it’s finally warm enough to spend the day at the beach and actually take a dip in the water!  Granted only the kids are going in all the way to swim, still a bit cold for me, but still so wonderful!  Here you can see my version of the asymmetrical apron skirt from Shape, Shape pattern book by Natsuno Hiraiwa. I …
