Me Made May 2019 Recap

It’s a bit late coming, but I really wanted to share everything I wore this Me Made May! This was my 6th year participating and for the first time I didn’t wear all my makes. My goal this year was to wear all me-mades with no repeats. I didn’t totally accomplish that goal- toward the end I really just wanted to wear some favorites- but I could have. …

Upside-Down Bolero Jacket Refashion

I made this cute little jacket and took pics late last year and then promptly forgot about them. Hence the longer hair. I can always date makes by my hair length! This is the Upside-Down Bolero Jacket from Shape Shape 2 that I refashioned from a goodwill dress. I made this for my ASG talk/trunk show a few months ago on Japanese patterns. You can see my other …

Blush Linen Shape Shape Sleeveless Blouse

I’ve got a very simple make to share with you today. A darted tank in a lovely blush linen,  the Shape Shape Sleeveless Blouse.  This is my second go at this pattern.  I don’t know why it took me so long to make another one. I wear the original white linen version constantly. You can see that version here. It’s one of my first makes that I blogged …

Wave Wrap Skirt Shape Shape 2

I’m a beach girl at heart so this wave print was bought up immediately after spotting it. It’s a beautifully drawn image of waves in a gorgeous lightweight cotton woven.  I love the blue tones that fade to the peach and cream plus just a touch of vivid lime, purple and red.  It took me quite awhile though to decide what to make this into to make the …

Puff-Sleeve Bolero Jacket- Shape Shape 2

I always get compliments when I sew up Japanese patterns, and this make is no different. Wearing this makes me feel chic and modern.  This is the Puff-Sleeve Bolero Jacket from Shape Shape 2, Sewing for Minimalist Style by Natsuno Hiraiwa.   I’m leading a class for my ASG group in a few months on Japanese Sewing  Patterns and thought I better beef up my samples.  When I …

Asymmetrical Apron Skirt Refashion

I’m so loving our weather here lately- it’s finally warm enough to spend the day at the beach and actually take a dip in the water!  Granted only the kids are going in all the way to swim, still a bit cold for me, but still so wonderful!  Here you can see my version of the asymmetrical apron skirt from Shape, Shape pattern book by Natsuno Hiraiwa. I …

Organic Reversible Wrap Skirt

This week has been all about working on fitting my muslin’s for my fitted jacket and jeans while I wait on my ordered fabric to arrive and finish dyeing my denim, my indigo dye kit just arrived from noon dye studios :)  More updates soon!     I thought I’d take a break from the tedium and whip out a quick & easy sewing project for myself.  I …
