I was thrilled to get the chance to test again for Closet Core Patterns. I’m a huge fan of the company and love their designs. I tend to draft my own patterns so I don’t buy as many as I used to, so it’s nice to get to use my sewing skills to help out. I was asked to test View C- the one piece version with the scoop back and criss cross straps.

I’m really happy with how this tester came out and am looking forward to making the bikini version! Fabric is already on the way!

This is actually my second version of the tester. For my first version the straps were too short and the length in the body was just a bit short. I actually loved that suit- I made it in a vivid turquoise with a black lining. I may try to salvage that one by turning it into a bikini. I actually don’t wear one pieces much since there inconvenient for the beach, so I’ll save this one for pool days. It’s really pretty!
I took these pics with my phone at the beach so they’re not the best, but it gets the job done. Taking pics at the beach with my foot injury is finally getting easier so hopefully I’ll get better pics later in the season.

How pretty is the back of this suit!

The only downside for this suit is it isn’t very supportive in the bust. I’m pretty active at the beach so I’d definitely make the bikini version for comfort and ease of wear all day in the sun and surf. I received the final pattern after testing and bought some lovely swim fabric from Core Fabrics that I can’t wait to sew up in a blue ditsy floral print and a Pthalo blue solid! Bikini’s coming soon!

Back soon with some more Summer makes! Happy Sewing!

You’re right, the back is lovely. And I love the print— it keeps the eye moving! Nice option for the pool.
