Holiday Carolyn Pajamas
Happy New Year! I’m back today with some fabulous matching Holiday Carolyn Pajamas.
I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season! We had a lovely and refreshing Christmas break with the kids home for two weeks. We baked cookies, made Gingerbread house’s, had a visits from both sides of our family and enjoyed some delectable food!
I’m very impressed with myself for getting these matching Pajamas finished before Christmas as these were made the week of- just in the nick of time. Amelie really wanted a nicer set of pj’s- she found a pair she wanted that were quite pricey- so I told her I could totally make them. These Holiday pj’s are the wearable muslin for her. I bought almost 10 yards of this holiday snowflake print (the last of the yardage available) and had just enough for all our pj’s. I didn’t have quite enough for my husband- but he’s not as into the matching pj’s as the kids are.

I used the Carolyn Pajamas from Closet Core Patterns for Amelie and my pj’s. I’ve made these a few times for myself so I had the pattern in my stash and just reprinted it to make her size. Her’s are a modified size 4 (cropped) and mine are a size 10 top and 12 bottoms. I didn’t have enough yardage for my top so I used a red gifted cotton blend that was in my stash. I wasn’t going to make myself pj’s but I figured mine will do double duty. If Ami grows taller she can have my PJ pants and probably still wear her top- I can always lengthen here hem a bit. My top was made up quickly so it’s not my best work but it will do! It does have a matching collar facing but it got turned up when we took these pics. Nigel has a Red tee from Target worn with the his PJ pants which are a unisex adult Medium using New Look 0913 View C.

Designed for chic lounging, the Carolyn Pajamas are thoughtfully tailored and supremely comfortable.
The Carolyn top features a classic notched collar, curved hem and breast pocket with three sleeve options. For a matching pajama set, choose between a straight-legged pant (with or without cuff) or a cuffed short. Both pants and shorts feature an elasticized waist, pockets and a faux fly. Personalize Carolyn by adding contrasting piping details for an elegant finish.

Ami’s pj’s had a few modifications- her blouse was shortened quite a few inches. I also added another button to the neckline to raise it a bit for her. You can also see the pocket placement is a bit low since she’s only 10. I finished these up when she was at a friend’s house so I couldn’t check the placement. I’ll probably raise that when I get a chance. I love how the piping turned out too! It really makes the print pop. The pants are the regular length so just a tad long on her, but she can fold up the cuff for now. I’m really glad I made the pants for myself since she’ll be able to wear those if she grows taller. As you can see my son at 13 is already taller than me so I figure Ami is due for another growth spurt soon. Nigel is probably close to 5’9″ at this point!
I just finished up a Haslam PJ draft for myself and am working on two new PJ sets for myself. I’m going to order Ami some pretty fabric for Valentine’s day to make her another set of these. The fit is really nice on her. The only adjustment I’ll make is to raise the waist a bit and crop the top like I did on this set She loves these and has been wearing them ALL THE TIME! If you’d like to see my other Carolyn PJ’s I’ve made it for myself twice before in a thistle floral print and a blue shorts set (still my fav set for spring).
