Let’s create the perfect travel capsule wardrobe for a summer getaway to the beautiful island of Rhodes, Greece. We’ll explore this stunning destination, reminisce about my last trip, and dream about future adventures!

Destination: Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is renowned for its rich history, stunning beaches, and vibrant culture. With its ancient ruins, Medieval Old Town, and azure waters, Rhodes offers visitors a captivating blend of past and present.

About the Destination:
Rhodes boasts a fascinating history that dates back to antiquity. Explore the UNESCO-listed Medieval City of Rhodes, where ancient ruins, Byzantine churches, and medieval fortifications tell the story of the island’s past as a strategic outpost of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. Wander through bustling markets, sample delicious traditional Greek cuisine, and immerse yourself in the island’s festivals and celebrations. Spend your morning exploring hidden coves and scenic trails with rugged mountain views and then take a dip in crystal-clear waters or soaking up the Mediterranean sun on one of Rhodes’ many beaches.

Our Family Vacation in Pefkos

On our last family vacation to Greece, we spent 4 beautifully relaxing days at an island home on Rhodes in Pefkos (the town over from Lindos) at Aquavisionaire. This beachfront property was perfect for our family, offering the authenticity and tradition of Greece in a private and quiet setting. The house was a stone’s throw from the water and down the road from the local beach, with stone stairs in the cliffside leading to porticos and a walkway into the water. Perfection!

Traveling with the whole family made this trip so special. My sister and her family, my brother, my family, and my parents all came together for this unforgettable reunion trip. The kids spent most of the day swimming while the adults relaxed. You can read more about my Trip on my blog (links in description) and check out my Pinterest Board from this Trip. I also have a relaxing video of Pefkos (one of the first I ever made) of our view from the island that I’ll link up here for you to watch.
Rhodes Medieval City Tour
We also took a private tour of Rhodes’ Medieval City, the Acropolis of Rhodes, and Filerimos with our wonderful guide, Liana P. from Tours by Locals. Highlights included the Grand Master Palace, the Street of the Knights, and the panoramic views from Monte Filerimos.
Athens Adventure
Next, we headed to Athens for a whirlwind city tour. We stayed at 4 Streets Athens in a beautiful apartment with a view of the Acropolis. Our days were filled with exploring the National Archaeological Museum, taking tours of the Acropolis and Agora, and enjoying an amazing food tour with Konstantinos. Fabric shopping was another highlight, and I found some beautiful prints on Kalamiotou street.

Length of Trip
Today I’m planning a dream week-long island getaway in July, allowing ample time to explore Rhodes’ diverse attractions and enjoy its beautiful beaches and landscapes. I can’t wait to head back for another relaxing vacay!
Season & Weather
In July, Rhodes experiences warm and sunny weather, with temperatures ranging from an average high of 29-31°C (84-88°F) to an average low of 21-23°C (70-73°F). Perfect for beach activities and sightseeing during the day, with mild and pleasant evenings ideal for dining al fresco or exploring the island’s nightlife.

Activities & Culture
During your stay in Rhodes, you can visit historical sites, explore charming villages, and enjoy water sports and beach activities. Don’t miss attending traditional Greek music and dance performances, participating in local festivals, and sampling regional specialties at tavernas and markets.

My Color Palette for Rhodes

Choose a color palette inspired by Rhodes’ natural beauty and Mediterranean charm.
- Neutrals: Soft shades of white, sand, and taupe reflect the island’s sun-drenched landscapes and ancient ruins.
- Accents: Vibrant hues like turquoise, coral, and olive green evoke the colors of the sea, flora, and fauna found throughout Rhodes.”

For a week-long vacation in Rhodes, prioritize garments that are stylish, comfortable, and suitable for both daytime exploration and evening relaxation. Opt for lightweight dresses and tops in breathable fabrics like cotton or linen. Choose comfortable shorts, skirts, or lightweight trousers that mix and match easily. Pack a few stylish swimsuit sets and cover-ups. And don’t forget sun protection- sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunscreen. Select comfortable sandals, water shoes or espadrilles.
