I’ve been sewing up a storm the past two days for Kids Clothes Week! Make sure you check out the KCW blog to see more fabulous makes! I’m going to keep these posts short and sweet so I can focus on sewing. Here is yesterday’s make, a highwaisted v-neck blouse with small frilled cap sleeves for my Amelie. This is another pattern from Girls Style Book, Blouse M. You can see the other patterns I made from the same book here and here and here.
Ami picked out this cute owl print out of the remnant bin a few weeks ago and I’ve been looking for something classic to make so it’s not over the top cutesy. I only had a little over half a yard of this fabric so I used a sky blue linen to use for the back bodice and the facings.
The pattern itself is easy to follow, the only tricky parts were getting the facings on, but the diagrams were great for this pattern. You sew the neckline and armholes (with the side seams unsewn) and then just slip the garment right sides out. Instead of the button loop closure I added some rick-rack to tie the back closed that Ami picked out- Tinkerbell purple, a must have apparently :) Ami loves this blouse! She is calling it her “princesser” top! She was super excited to pose for these pics even though it was a bit chilly out yesterday afternoon.
