Me Made May 2024- A Month of Outfits!

I’m back with my Me Made May roundup of everything I wore this month! I made it all the way through the month- filming weekly, taking daily pics and restyling my makes. And I’m feeling really good about my closet and making everything work with my new style goals.

Now as you probably know if you’ve followed me for a bit- my closet is almost entirely handmade. This is my 10th year participating in this challenge, so my wardrobe is ALL me made. Thanks again to Zoe for hosting this challenge! Check out her amazing podcast Check Your Thread! I decided to switch things up this year and plan all my looks in advance- usually on Sunday- so I could style everything for the week and make getting dressed a bit easier. This worked out amazingly! I might have to keep up this practice.

I picked out shoes and accessories for each week as well as one PJ set and one yoga/activewear set. This part was key. Taking the time to thoughtfully choose jewelry is something I almost always skip when I’m in a rush. Getting dressed has never been easier. And while I do hate the daily photographing- it really is useful for my wardrobe planning process. I may need to revisit this for my Fall/Winter wardrobe too.

I kept my pledge super simple this month:

“I Rebecca at Sew Pomona pledge to wear my handmade wardrobe every day throughout May 2024”

I ended up having no outfit repeats, though I wore many pieces multiple times. My closet is really shaping up! I did switch a few looks around. I didn’t want to wear by Navy & Pink Floral Skirt with my Calvin Wrap Navy Line Blouse– I just don’t like that skirt. So I’m going to try refashioning it to a different silhouette. I also swithced up my look for the last day of MMM. My hair was wet in the morning and I didn’t want to mess up my silk orchid cami so I tried to match my jewelry I’d picked (blue stones with gold) to a different top. I went with the reverse side of my black tank top which is lined in blue swim fabric and really loved this combo! I’ll wear the Cami this weekend instead. We had a few changes of plans where we skipped a beach day due to weather so I never wore my Calvin Dress. I also never got to wear my Palm Springs Caftan Dress as we skipped the Beach due to the weather- but it is up on the blog now!

If you want to see more- My new YouTube video recapping the month is now live- so go check that out. I’m in the process of photographing some new makes for the blog- so hopefully you’ll see more content here as well.

Did you participate in MMM this year? If so, how did it go? Let me know in the comments here or on YT.

Happy sewing!
