Spring Summer 2023 Wardrobe Plans

Sewing & Wardrobe Planning Inspiration for my Handmade Capsule Wardrobe

So I like to start my wardrobe planning with 3 words that express the look, style and mood I want to express through my clothing. My words for the season are Eclectic, Oceanic and Ease.

Eclectic ~ Ease ~ Oceanic

Eclectic to remind me to mix it up a bit, play with silhouettes and texture and add some creative flair to my designs. Ease- I prefer my clothing to be just that- easy. Comfortable and easy to mix and match. And Oceanic. I want some nautical flair to represent my favorite place to be…on the water. I love living in Florida close to the beach and anywhere coastal is where I envision myself.

Spring/Summer 2023

Mood Boards:

Here’s the article I mentioned in my video about the knit pants from Christine Jonson that inspired me to get the pattern I’ll be sewing up this Spring!

We are planning another amazing trip for nest year- Summer 2024- to Italy! I love these large family vacations! My sister has already booked our Villa on the Amalfi Coast so most of the things I plan to sew this spring and summer are pieces I want to wear for that trip. We’ll be on the Coast for a week and then spend 4 days in Rome- I can’t wait!

My husband and kids have never been so I’m really excited to show them some of my favorite places in Rome. I studied art in Cortona, Italy for a semester in college and then backpacked around Europe for a month and have such wonderful memories of my time abroad!

My sister and her family are all in the process of getting their Italian citizenship. Her husband is already a citizen and the kids just went through, but her process takes a bit longer as she has to pass a language test before continuing the process. I speak a bit of Italian from my time there but haven’t had anyone to practice with in years. It will be lovely to have family that is a bit more fluent to travel with.

Luxurious tones, expansive, relaxed feeling of life where the sun is always shining. The sun bakes the summer colors into hazy, shaded tones, touched with morning mist. Goes with the flow, serene. Honest and detail oriented, nurturing, and warm. Understands the importance of rest and relaxation.
