I’m back again today with my newest version 2.0 of my Swiss Dot Blouse. If you missed my last post go back to see the original version of this blouse!

I love this blouse with this new flounce sleeve. Perfect for summer and easy to wear.

This was a very easy refashion once I removed the original sleeves. I had plenty of fabric to work with with the large sleeves once they were removed and taken apart. I simply cut two curved pattern pieces ( shaped a bit like lima beans) and overlapped them at the shoulder point for each flounce. They were then inserted and bias was added to cover the seams on the interior. Just that small change made this top so much better. I may still tweak this blouse a bit with new buttons. I’ve only been sewing with what’s in my stash so my choices were limited. I’m on the lookout!
I’m wearing this blouse here with my second version of Butterick 4659 vintage twill pants at my mom’s house on our little summer staycation. All the details on the construction of the pants are on that original post. I really love these pants, one of my favorite patterns! The attached belt really makes these so easy and comfortable to wear.

On the homefront:
The kids are now both back to school this week which has given me so much time to start working on my business plans. I published my DBA, filed for my fictitious name and just turned in my paperwork for my city license. I’m working through my Adobe Illustrator class (link in sidebar if you’re interested) to digitize my designs and hopefully I’ll be ready soon to start up on Etsy selling my embroidery designs. Make sure to signup for my coming soon newsletter in the sidebar.
Can’t believe I have a 5th and 7th grader now! Nigel is already almost as tall as me! Other than some bus issues this first week has gone fantastically.

Back soon with my very favorite make of the summer- my Vintage Embroidered Beach Jacket! Happy Sewing!
