Blue Confetti Knit Top + Cream Selvedge Culottes

I’m so excited about this new top! It’s self drafted off my knit sloper with the shoulder seam pushed to the back in a curved inset. I love how regency dresses had the shoulder seams pushed to the back bodice and I wanted to create a more modern adaptation of that idea. This is my very wearable muslin testing out those seamlines.  I purchased this blue confetti French …

Sacre Bleu Knit Dress

*Sacré Bleu!  This simple little knit dress made using my Bodice Sloper is all about the color.  I’ve been wanting more clothing in this shade of aqua/teal for the longest time, like my  Georgina dress, and was psyched when I saw this Organic Knit from Michael Levine. I love how this color highlights my big blue eyes, which I’ve always thought are my best feature. I won a gift certificate awhile …

Simple Tank Slip

Just a quick little post today.  I made this simple tank slip up a few weeks ago to wear with my White Holly Hawthorn Dress.  It’s already gotten so much more use then I thought it would. It’s perfect under all my light colored dresses or paired with a skirt. I’m wearing it here with my Shape Shape Wrap Apron Skirt.  I really need to make a few knit tanks and maybe …

Fall Wardrobe Sewing Plans

This summer has just flown by! My oldest starts school in just two weeks.  As my summer sewing winds down it’s time to focus on my Fall sewing plans.   Our weather here is quite warm until at least January so these sewing projects are all geared toward year-round wear. I kept my silhouettes pretty simple since I want to try out some new sewing techniques as well as natural dyeing with each look.  You can check out …

Indigo and Mini Stripe Voile Bias Dresses

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of wearing indigo.  I just love this color!  I’ve made myself two more self drafted bias cut tube dresses. The first in the indigo seen here and a shorter version in a black and white mini stripe.  Designing and sewing my own patterns is so enjoyable. Organic Cottons Plus sent me my choice of fabric for review and I went with these two organic cotton voiles I’ve had …

Bias Layered Dresses

I’m really loving my newest makes, a pair of bias cut tube dresses.  If you followed me for Me Made May you saw me wearing these on Mother’s Day.  I made this pattern using my bodice sloper from the * Craftsy Class Patternmaking: The Bodice Sloper with Suzy Furrer .  I love this class!  If you’re interested in learning pattern drafting this class is a fabulous intro.  The pattern inspiration is from …

Me Made May 2015: Week 2

It’s been a fun second week of Me Made May!  I’m not even tired of taking pictures on a daily basis yet either.  Thank goodness for my tripod- its made this years pic’s so much easier!  I’m, having fun trying to not repeat looks and planning out what I’ll wear every day.  I love how well everything in my closet is mixing together this year. Here are this …
